Description:

Indications:

  • Indolent wounds

  • Corn and callus removal (podiatry)

  • Gonorrheal ophthalmia neonatorum prophylaxis

Contraindications:

  • Application to wounds or broken skin

Precautions:

  • Application will discolor skin and clothing.

  • For external use only (except ophthalmic solution)

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • Local irritation at application site.

Dosage:

  • Administered topically or ophthalmically

  • Topical:

    • Ointment: Apply to pad, then apply to affected areas for 5 days

    • Solution: Apply to a cotton swab, then apply to affected areas two to three times a week for two to three weeks

  • Ophthalmic:

    • Immediately following birth, use 2 drops per eye and allow approximately 30 seconds of contact
