Clotrimazole Vaginal Cream (Gyne Lotrimin-7, Gyne Lotrimin-3, Mycelex-7, Mycelex-G)

Description:

Vaginal antifungal

Indications:

Vaginal Candidiasis (yeast infection)

Contraindications:

Known sensitivity to clotrimazole

Precautions:

Pregnancy category B
If condition worsens, inform patient to notify health care provider.
Clean applicator after each use with mild soap and water.
Insert applicator high into vaginal cavity (except in pregnancy)
Refrain from intercourse during treatment.
Use continually, even during menstruation.

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

Vulvovaginal burning, itching and irritation
Lower abdominal cramping
Bloating
Rash

Dosage:

Vaginal tablets:

100mg: Insert 1 suppository intravaginally qhs for 7 days
500mg: Insert 1 suppository intravaginally qhs for one dose

Vaginal Cream:

Insert 1 applicatorful intravaginally qhs for 7 days

Topical Cream:

Apply to affected areas twice a day for 7 days
