General Biographical Description: Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, College of Medicine, and Chair, Division of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, Mayo Clinic Arizona. Dr. Cornella’s clinical interests include female urinary incontinence, massive vaginal vault prolapse surgery, genitourinary fistula, and advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Dr. Cornella’s research includes assessment of graft materials in animal models. Dr. Cornella developed the first Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He has also chaired the national conference of fellowship directors. Dr. Cornella is a member of various professional organizations including the American Urogynecologic Society, the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. He has served on the advisory board to the American College of Surgeons.
