General Biographical Description: Dr Candace Brown is currently a Professor in the Departments of Pharmacy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. She has a MS in Psychology, a MSN in Nursing, and a Doctorate in Pharmacy. She completed a Pharmacy Residency and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychopharmacology. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and as a Psychiatric Pharmacist. She is also certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) as a Sex Therapist. She has participated in NIH study sections and serves on approximately 20 advisory panels for various pharmaceutical corporations. She has presented at over 140 international, national, regional and local professional meetings. She is contributing editor for the Yearbook of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a panel member for Primary Psychiatry, serves as chairperson on the Women’s Health Panel for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and has been a reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Reproductive Medicine, Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology, Biological Psychiatry, Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She has published 18 book chapters and 135 peer-reviewed publications. She has been a Principle Investigator in approximately 55 research studies and collaborating investigator in 15 research studies, including a National Institute of Health Clinical Trial.
