General Biographical Description: | Carolyn M. Klinge, PhD has been a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine since 2005 and has been a member of the tenure track graduate faculty at the U of L since 1996. Dr. Klinge received her undergraduate education at Keuka College, her MS, and PhD degrees at the Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine of the Pennsylvania State University, and completed post-doctoral research at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. |

Special Interests: | Dr. Klinge's area of expertise of estrogen action including genomic/transcriptional regulation and membrane-initiated/non-genomic signaling in breast and lung cancer and in vascular endothelial cell systems. She has an active research program supported by grants from NIH, Joan's Legacy, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the Kentucky Lung Cancer Research Program, and American Heart Association. Dr. Klinge is active in the graduate and medical teaching program at U of L School of Medicine and serves on the editorial board of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology. She has served on a number of grant review panels. She is an avid runner and swimmer. |
